Can someone plese explain (like to a 4-year old) how to post pictures, alternatively, could someone receive a couple of pictures through e-mail in order to post them here for me?
Here is a list of forum threads that discuss just this thing. You may want to peruse through them, because all the info you need is right there. I'm sure there is a 4-year old somewhere that would understand the instructions:
How To: Post Pictures
Adding A Photo To Thread
There are probably other threads. I used http://Volkerize.com to search for post pictures. You could use Volkerize.com and perform some other search and see what comes up.
Don't forget to post pics of your beautiful house! If it's half as innovative and awesome as you described, you should really contact HGTV to see if they want to showcase it :)
I was going to do just that, but I didn't get past first post.
I cannot get a Flickr account, because I have to get Itunes, and I can't figure out how to do that - and my "4-year old" is asleep.
Then, for me, computerese is a language I simply don't understand. The instructions in that first link contain things that for me are gibberish, the 2nd link is even worse.
Sorry. This is beyond me. Anyone wants to receive 2 x 15-Mb pics?
Haha... not to worry, I am similarly tech non-savvy.
You do not need an itunes account to be on Flickr. I think another program called Picassa has also been used by forum members. I'll try to break down the limited information I have for you as I understand it (anyone else please feel free to correct me!)
1. After opening a Flickr or other account, follow the instructions to upload your photos to the site.
2. The website will now have that picture at a specific address appearing in the window (after www.etc)
3. Highlight and copy the entire address (after placing the cursor in the address window, hold the control key with A to highlight the whole line, release it, and then hold the control key with C to copy it)
4. Come back to this site, and type this in:
5. Paste your copied address in between the quotation marks.
6. Enjoy your beautiful online pics!
(Thanks to Brian H for the original instructions)
Ahhh, sorry, under number 4 it thought I was entering a blank web page.
Type this in:
Delete the letters URL and then insert the address between the quotation marks.
One more try (it keeps interpreting the line as a command)
img src=" " width="600" >
but with a < in front of it, and then copy (control with V, or you can right click) the address between the quotation marks.
Sorry, this is what happens when a tech moron tries to explain something!
You should upload the pictures to fickr, imageshack.us or your favorite hosting site, then copy the 'share' code that starts with <a href=... or <img src=...
If the code already includes a "width=" item, change the number to be 600 to make it fit here; also delete the height="..." bit so that the picture retains its aspect ratio. If it doesn't, find the bit of the code that starts with <img src=... and find the > sign. Add width="600" just before it.
You should be good to go.
I shall have to suffer the embarrassment and ask someone at the office to do this for me, letting them tittle behind my back (gnash).
