Here's a pic of the valet line. Kind of incredible to see all the Tesla's lined up and parked as far as you can see.
Please keep posting photos if you can, along with snippets of info!
I don't see any photo...
Keep those pics coming! Love any feedback or comments you can provide!
I couldn't get the lightbox link to work either. But try this:
Yes, now I can see... thanks...
+ 2. Awesome. Keep it coming for those of us not lucky enough to be there! Thanks!
Wow, that picture looks like a hole will open up in the floor.
Keep the pictures coming!!!! Lovin it!
It's a mad house park away from the action if you can.
I'm stuck in a sea of teslas.

Might even miss the announcement
Live stream! http://new.livestream.com/teslamotors/liveannouncement
Could any one see the video in the live stream link?
Argh, sorry, I didn't copy the whole link. It looks like they're ready to start. Red P85 up on stage and two others lined up. Some car wash type wheel guides on the stage with two retractable doors in between.
Big screen over the stage is showing some vintage has station commercials, including Marilyn Monroe for Union Oil. Who knew?
Elon says swap takes 90 sec. Every supercharger station will have swap, starting LA to NY corridor. Same price as a gas fill up. Rental model, if you don't return you get billed differential. Choice at stations is "faster or free."
Link to replay?
@defmonk - Can you explain this in more detail?
> Rental model, if you don't return you get billed differential.
That's roughly what Elon said. I think the idea is that there is a value associated with your current battery and one associated with the "rented" battery. If you fail to return the rented battery, Tesla will automatically bill you for the difference.

@defmonk - did he give any details about pricing, either for each swap or for the battery difference? Is it possible that there would be zero difference in battery price, as the station battery won't necessarily be any newer than the owner's battery? Just trying to get an idea of whether he really described a plan, or mainly gave a technological demonstration.
Demo was very brief. The only word on pricing is that the price of the swap is about what it costs to fill up a gas tank. I take that to mean about $60-90. No indication of the differential pricing, if you choose to keep the battery.
