I'm in the Tri Cities and expecting delivery of my Model S in Late September. I'm wondering how many Tesla owners are on this side of the state and what your experience is with Ranger service if any. Thanks!
I live in Spokane and was told by the techs who worked on my car that there are 40 Teslas in the Spokane area.
We had a problem with the air suspension--car would not lower at 60 mph. Wouldn't have known this condition if error message had not popped up.
We contacted Tesla. They could not fix the problem remotely. We made an appointment. Tech's who were already scheduled to come to Spokane came to our house two days later and resolved the issue by installing a new air suspension controller. Very positive experience from initial contact with Tesla to final resolution.
You will love your car
Thanks Erik I know I will. The anticipation can make you a little crazy. Your story alleviated a little of my concern. I appreciate the response.
I know there is at least one in Walla Walla as well.
I think there is at least one in Pullman too.
Well. I'm in Cheney. About 3 months ago, when the techs replaced my front passenger door handle, they said there were about 35 in the Spokane area. So, they are still getting new sales over here.
There are at least four in the Tri-Cities area that I know about, including mine. Never needed Ranger service. I schedule services in Seattle on Saturdays and spend the weekend with family and friends while using a loaner MS. Since the Ellensburg supercharger came on line, range is a non-issue.
Thanks KevinE. I've only seen one here in town but I've had friends tell me they've seen others. I'm not concerned about range at all. The anticipation is getting to me. I've been reading online about the drive train issues. That started the what-ifs going through my head. I know I'm going to love this car. I was just curious about the Ranger service in case of something happening that keeps me from being able to drive it to Seattle. No worries!
You're going to do more than just love your Tesla, you'll grow to hate your ICE car! ;-)
I have several Tesla service phone numbers on my contacts list for the "just in case." From reading other people's experiences, a phone call is all that is needed to take care of a problem. They will make the arrangements as necessary.
By the way, tint the windows as soon as you get the car. The A/C is a little weak for this area, and it's good for some privacy.
I found the A\C works fine. On July 16 had temps up to 111 degrees on trip to Richland had inside temp set to 67 and A/C did not seem to have any problem keeping me cool.
We live near Wenatchee and have had several "100+" days. The A/C works fine however, we do find that setting the temperature at about 68 ~ 72 is needed to feel cool on very hot days. I have been super pleased with the UV and direct heat blocking of the glass roof! On the brightest, hottest day I have not felt the heat from above. I only wish the side windows were made of the same glass...
Glad to hear there are owners in the Tri Cities. I am going to order my car in a week or two and want to get a December delivery. I am in the Army Reserves and I am currently deployed in Afghanistan so I have to do everything through emails and online. I hopefully will be back home in early December and can't wait to get my car. I too had some concerns with the Rangers and what to do if I need service, so please keep me up to date with your problems/solutions so others may benefit as well!
Hey Charger, if you're still lurking, I'm not military but whatever you do, let your DS know what the schedule is for your return rather than depending on their dates.
It'll be easier for everybody. :) I'm in the process of moving back to Spokane from Tokyo, and it's been a bumpy ride.
Thanks windex I've let him know and he said we can move it if needed. The problem is the Army keeps changing my return. I do have it narrowed down to within one month however. I haven't confirmed yet, I think the time works in my favor. The only thing I am worried about is getting it before the end of the year. I'm going to confirm on 2 Sep.
I also live in Tricities, WA. My wife and I just ordered the 85D, but we are not taking delievery till July since we have a mission trip planned for June. I called the DMV to ask about sales tax on the car. (financial planning) They quoted me something like 8.?. I have been reading though several forums and it seems like the car is exampt??
Washington State does not charge sales tax on the Model S. I am not sure how long this exemption will be in effect. Also, if you pay to have a home charger installed there is no sales tax on the materials or labor. Your electrician will not know about this so you will need to tell them BEFORE they create the invoice. Reference: Revised Code of Washington 82.29A.125, 82.08.816, and 82.12.816
The current EV sales tax exemption expires the last day of June.
There are bills in the state senate proposing to extend the exemption but nothing has passed yet.
Thanks guys, we had the delivery date moved to May just so we don't miss out on the sells tax exemption. Also thanks for the code we are getting a home charger installed. When I had called the dmv about the sells tax I had been looking at a used model s. For the time being we have been watching every video and reading every article out there about the model S. We're so excited about our new 85D!!
there are two Model S in Walla Walla! (plus a Roadster). Actually see several passing through in the past couple of months. Would like to get a Super Charger station here.
I just put a HPWC and P85D in near Long Lake Dam WA. Charging off the dam so to speak.
Any owners in Tri-cities kind enough to share contact info of a local electrician who set up your home charger outlet? It's time to have someone come out & install my unit too :D
