I know many people here has more than one reservations. Has anyone got a refund back? I want to know how long does the process toke. Also do they refund via the credit card you charge with or check.
It takes about 3 weeks
Is there a market for "selling" your reservation spot in line? I'm interested in a refund and thought I could help out another enthusiast in the process. Any thoughts?
Nope. You can buy your car and resell it.
Someone is doing that here: http://www.teslamotors.com/forum/forums/model-s-sale
Telsa does not allow reservation switching except among close family members and it's done on a case-by-case basis. I expect you'd have to provide documentation that the person you were trading with was a close relative. I don't know how close the relationship has to be either.
@J_trax, somewhere in your reservation agreement, there is some clause or two about not being able to sell your slot in line.
Of course, Tesla can't prevent you from doing something on the side, but you should note that under the current law, if you were to immediately resell your Model S to another person, regardless of the reason or whether it is at a gain or loss, neither you or the your buyer can claim the $7500 federal tax credit.
I canceled my reservation on 12/2/12 and was told I would receive a refund of my $5000 deposit within 2 weeks. After 3 weeks, I asked about my refund and on 12/26 received an email from Walter Franck promising my refund in 7-10 business days. On 1/17/13 I asked Amex if a refund had been processed, and they said no but they would send an inquiry to Tesla. As of 2/6/13, no refund has been received. Makes me wonder if I will ever see the refund.
That's more than 2 month's now, since your cancellation (on 12/2/12). That ain't right.
Have you received any documentation regarding a confirmation of your cancellation?
How do you request an expedited deposit refund?
