I've found many similar or exact posts, and users, on the Teslamotorsclub.com forum. Is it linked to this one, or are many people here members of both and just copy and paste their posts between the two?
Typo. Should be teslasmotorsclub, sorry.
You can edit the typo by using the Edit option near the Tesla logo. Only the OP has access.
Yes, many people use both forums. TMC is well moderated, but sometimes seems to have fewer posters. Then again, the Supercharger thread there is very lively. And TMC has a much more modern forum system with the ability of all posters to edit their posts, easy picture inclusion, reputation system, etc., etc.
The other difference is that teslamotorsclub.com was started and is moderated by Tesla owners and fans and is not in any way associated (other than that) with Tesla Motors the company that produces automobiles.
I tend to use the regional forums at TMC to keep up on local Tesla news, events and local charger installation projects.
I copy links to threads from there on occasion and post the link here when it is information that looks pertinent. Topics tend to get more techical and in depth at TMC.
I have a different nym there. I don't post very often.
My spouse is Captain_Zap at TMC. (I'm really the Admiral.)
Both are excellent, ™ and TMC are the biggest but there is another forum (much smaller and less active though) as well:
Funny. If you go to teslamotorclub.com, it redirects to Mazda. What a bunch of losers. Seriously?? If I'm interested in a tesla, I don't think a Mazda would even come close.
Anyway, just my own reaction. I laughed out when I was redirected.
I find that TMC has a large number of very in depth threads that have developed over time. These are packed with insight from a lot of bright people with drastically different backgrounds.
I keeping with the theme of cross posting, here are a couple of my favorite examples-
The depth on TMC v. TM may be due to the design of this forum where threads and issues eventually fade away (on purpose, I suspect).
The ability of moderators to sticky popular threads at TMC is a good thing for sure.
My only gripe about TMC is that there are so many sub forums that it's sometimes hard to remember where you found a thread you were reading.
The real forum software used there is MUCH better though. Nothing like having a real search function! ;-)
You might try changing the title in your original post. Neither of your posts have the name or address correct.
It is www.teslamotorsclub.com
Tesla Motors Club is often referred to as TMC here.
@lola, thanks for the giga factory link, I hadn't seen that one. Very interesting thread.
That's wrong. You left out the 's' in motors. Computers are lousy guessers.
Some people exploit that, and the fact that some people also guess or spell rong. So be VERY careful looking for the White House, for example. Extremely not safe for work, at the wrong domain (i.e, other than .gov)! I must have read this somewhere...
McAfee said the day after the ACP site opened and jammed, 700+ spoof sites were working fine.
How do I make a change to the title or any post? There seems to be no edit feature for this forum.
Hover your mouse over the Tesla "T" in the upper left. A menu will present itself.
@goneskiian, thanks! Had no idea it was there!
Yes, but for some reason only Tesla knows, only the OP can edit, and they can only edit the first post.
@shop, I just noticed this when I tried to edit a typo in another post that I didn't create. Ugh.
Editing others' posts is limited to Wikipedia.
