Are those 19's. I could get used to them.
Why are the spokes not evenly spaced like they are with the 21" turbines? Here it looks like two spokes are grouped together with space between the pairs. It looks weird.
Yes, the Cyclones and the Aeros are both 19" wheels. Both are $2500 options, but that's still quite a bit less than the 21" Turbine option cost of $4500. And in theory the 19" tires should last longer and be less expensive to replace.
I think the Cyclone wheels are close enough to the Turbine look to suite my taste... at least on the sporty looking MC Red. If I was going for a darker color and more conservative look the Turbines still win out for me.
Amped, yes that's exactly what they've done. Also note that for each pair of spokes the two spokes intersect are different depths and angles onto the wheel.
It's a similar but definitely different look compared to the very symmetrical Turbines.
Wheel gap is awful.
I agree Amped, it looks weird. Why couldn't they just get a 19" turbine?
Not crazy about the spacing either. Looks like a Mazda. I prefer the look of the original 19"s, that look more like a Jaguar (to me, anyway.)
Because then they couldn't sell the 21's for $4500
The spacing on the Cyclones is way more symmetrical than on the original 19's...
You don't know the state of the air suspension.
You can get 4 brand new wheels (that look very close to the turbines) INCLUDING the tires and sensors shipped to you for less than the upgrade cost of these. Then you end up with 4 spare tires... Seems like a no brainer to me.
Plus don't really care for the spacing on these.
The original 19"s do have even more space in between the spokes, but what I mean is there's something about this Cyclone wheels that don't make the car look muscular, like a Luxury Sports car anymore. It moves into "rental car" look. Very tame & normal looking.
The original 19"s look pretty mean, it was hard for me to pick between the 21"s and the 19"s.
Anyway, I realize this is totally in the eye of the beholder and someone might see the complete opposite. I'm glad they're giving us options.

Really want to like this cyclone look as I love the turbines but couldn't justify the cost of owning 21's. But to me they just don't look right. Maybe it's the spacing?
Just saw the 19" wheels in person at the Dania Beach Service Center.
I don't get it--all that money and . . . they don't look great.
A much better, "just right" solution, and one I'm surprised Tesla didn't consider: Turbine 20" wheels!
The 19" look too small.
The 21" are too big--rim rash is just too easy, plus they may cost too much in terms of ride quality . . .
So, a Turbine 20" wheel would have been perfect!
Tesla: hate to add to your "To Do" list, but, really, that would have been a better choice than the 19" turbine wheel.
The regular 19s look much, much better in my opinion... there is something mean and aggressive about them compared to these cyclones:

Wheels are very personal choices, I've taken months to pick out wheels before (on other cars). I've taken the position of "I HATE those wheels!!" and after seeing them for a while; I start to like them. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't?
The 19's look like crap. For the price difference I just shake my head every time I see them.
I think they look just fine.
I don't like the standard 19's at all and wouldn't mind paying either $2500 or even $4500 for the trademark Tesla Turbine look, but not at the sacrifice of more road noise, faster tire wear and more costly tire replacements.
I followed the 19" Turbine wheel thread over on TMC, but there still seems to be disagreement on whether there are any such Turbine wheels with sufficient load rating for the heavy Model S and with the exactly correct fitment.
I'd love to know about any 19" Turbine wheels that are fully compliant with the Model S requirements.
I don't like them, or the Aero wheels. I am perfectly happy with my original 19" silver wheel.
FYI, if you don't like your wheel color, you can get them powder coated or painted for $200 per wheel or so. I have been thinking powder coating mine black.
No close to the look of 21"
Do we know the weights of the wheel styles? I searched around but couldn't find anything. As I learned with previous cars, wheel weight has a surprisingly large effect on handling. The spokes on the turbine styles look very heavy.
I got a quote today from the service center for the 19" cyclones with winter tires. I currently have 21" summer wheels/tires that came stock with my P85. They priced the cyclones at $5800. That makes it much easier to go with the original 19's at $2400 for a winter setup.
I just checked the online tesla store. The standard 19" winter wheel set just jumped to 4K.
I love the standard 19's. I can't stand those 21's in any flavor. They look like an 18-year old kid grabbed your luxury car and had his way with it when you left for the weekend.
If the 19's were $4500 and the 21's were stock I'd pay the $4500 for the 19's. That's how much I dislike those low-profile tires/wheels.
Smack of rice-burning tuner car.
