Picked this up from TMC. Enjoy
Awesome, thanks for posting! Looks much better than previous photos I've seen. Much more integrated.
Pictures and design are great.
Always wanted a console, not anymore. Tesla designers are right!
Wow, the interior looks fantastic. I was really suprised it looks this wonderful. These pictures should change some that are complaint about a place to put different items. It's got the look
Sorry, but I still would prefer door pockets.
The pictures must still be preliminary. At least one (my favorite interior combo on the perf version) is missing some photoshop work at the edges.
I would like door pockets too, but than I would just fill them with crap like I do now.
I'm salivating!!! Does anyone know if the lever on the right side of the steering column is the control for the windshield wipers or is it the shifter for the gear box?
"Shifter"... MB column for the D/N/R selection.
Great! However, a centre closed storage area is still necessary as are door pockets.
Beautiful shots. This is now our preliminary design studio.
I love the red trim on the Model S Signature Performance Interiors Black Nappa Leather and either Carbon Fiber Décor or Piano Black Décor and I hope they offer that red trim on the Model S Performance non-Sigs. I might also consider the Banana Leaf Décor, decisions, decisions!
I still think the 19" Aerodynamic Wheels look terrible but I would go with either the standard 19" or the 21" Performance Wheels in any case.
I think my car color will either be black or white with a little lean towards black.
The seats are significantly different between perf and regular. For that particular color combo (my 2nd & 3rd favorite) you can compare to regular and see the differences with these photos. And that's pretty cool.
I didn't know there were 'wheel options' on the signature S's (other than 21" wheels)?
They are options but not discounted options.
I think the door looks awesome sleek and minimalist with no pocket.
I'd still like to see what the difference is between a Signature and Production model. There doesn't seem to be anything that screams out Signature unique in these photos. Can any of the Sig reservation holders that have been contacted to design their cars please comment if they've been given information on how their car will be different from the general production model?
Red, white and lacewood with aero wheels for me. The aero wheels will NOT show the filthy black brake dust, and give a ?5% boost to range at speed, and with low rolling resistance tires should give further boost to range and be cheaper overall to replace the tires, especially in Australia. Now when they release the closed console..... this will be my dream car. New door liners too WITH storage - especially since interiors are supposed to be easy to upgrade according to the Australia rep.
From what I have been told for a while now, other than special badging, exterior red paint option, perforated leather, and optional white interior leather, that is all that makes the Signatures different than the Productions.
Tiki, and the surprises, early delivery and $3,550.
If you have a quiet car and you want to show that off, don't have pockets in the doors because the junk in there tends to slide forward and backward, rattle when you're driving, and rattle when you close the door. I think after obsessing over keeping everything about the car itself quiet, the Tesla engineers couldn't bring themselves to have door pockets. A light car with an aluminum body and little insulation in the door is not going to have that 'solid feel' when the door closes anyway, but having a pocket in there is worse. I'm thinking of the hard plastic (rigid) pockets. Possibly a leather 'pouch' held closed with elastic would be ok.
Yes, with signature you are paying for early delivery. When you get your signature it will probably be the first Model S anyone has seen. By the time I get my production Model S in 2013, they will be a dime-a-dozen (well ok, not quite, but people will have seen one before).
I will get mine in 2013 (Feb is my guess), but I am moving from the RTP area of NC to Charleston, SC for work. As long as the move doesn't kill my ability to purchase, I don't think there will be (m)any other Ss in the area. My point is I guess it depends on your location as to how common they are
