An actual 4-stroke ¼-scale model racing engine for modellers of historical ICE cars!
@Brian H | JULY 25, 2014:
I don't think this belongs on Tesla's forums.
It's about racing engines, not in any way connected to BEVs.
I think Brian H wanted us to see the engine. There is a photo of someone holding it in their hands. It is perhaps the same overall volume of the electric motor that is in the Tesla Model S. And it makes a whole 9 HP. Not 900 HP. Not 90 HP Not even 19 HP. 9 HP -- with a blower. This is an opportunity for us all to bask in the superiority of a battery electric vehicle.
There's some general discussion of models here, too. A V8 gas engine that small also appealed to my sense of the brilliant bizarre! Can a racing powered electric model Model S be far behind?
Why doesn't anyone build a smaller scale Tesla? Get CAD files, make a smaller port, Arduino and onboard battery, drive-by-wire RC, WiFi/bluetooth link, custom small webcam/spycam in keyhole on rear trunk?
