A lot of reservation holders will be togethere on the 9 feb event. Time to get the design studio operationel en show us a 100% fineshed Model S.
That will be a good timing!
On visiting the NYC store, I was told Tesla didn't like the lighting used by one photographer, and was using a replacement. Once the photos look good to Tesla, the Studio will be up.
My guess is that TM will wait a bit before rolling out the final Model S interior and the design studio. With today's reveal, they'll generate buzz and excitement about the Model X for the next few weeks. When that begins to ebb, they'll roll out the final Model S. Wish they'd do it all today, but I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if they do.
One thing that changed today in the Design Studio is that, for both the Signature and the regular production model, the tabs for "Interior", Packages" and "Options" now all say "Coming this Winter". Surely not!
It is winter now, no? Here in Australia it is Summer, so...............should be anytime now!!!
There are 41 days of winter still. So, ...
For I think the third time, "coming this winter" with "COMING SOON" below it isn't new.
Brian H, how do you define "winter"? In here winter is more like 200 days, so quite a few more than 41 are still coming...
Thanks for clarifying that "Winter" text. I must have looked at those tabs a dozen times, and only saw that notation last evening. Must have been looking too hard for some update!
I'm sure Brian H. defines winter as I do. ~March 21st is the beginning of spring. About 20 days from now.
Talked with a Tesla person at the Model X event. He said the complete Model S design studio should be up in about 2 weeks.
They said that a week ago, Alex. :(
Just saw the typo. 20 days should read 40 days.
About the winter comment, did the Ground Hog see his shadow? Otherwise it maybe a few more weeks after that... ;)

Not hardly! It was 20 days in Feb, + 21 in March = 41 when I posted that!
To what is that definition based on? Just trying to understand how that is defined there.
For what it is worth, I was told by two different Telsa reps (at the event) that the design studio would go live "In a couple of weeks".
@ Timo - March 21 is generally defined as the first day of spring here (US), December 21st is the first day of winter, Sept. 21st is first day of autumn/fall, and June 21st is first day of summer.
These are based on the position of the sun. It has fairly loose correlation to the weather.
Brian. Exactly. My post was one day after yours. 40 days.
I don't mean to be pedantic, but the last day of Winter is March 19. So we have 37 days to go, not counting today. :)
And actually my dates are not the real ones but within a day or two for illustration. It's all about equinoxes and longest days/nights etc.
OK, thanks. Vernal equinox is at March 20 here so that's the end of the winter there. That's actually useful info, now I have a bit better understanding what the US people talk about when they refer to end of winter, start of summer etc.
Just to be a meteorological geek. ;-)
(The equinox by definition is equal amounts of light and dark everywhere on the planet.)
Northern Hemisphere seasons of 2012:

June 20, 7:09 P.M. EDT
September 22, 10:49 A.M. EDT

David, read what you wrote more slowly. Out loud if necessary:
"~March 21st is the beginning of spring. About 20 days from now."
Pay particular attention to the words in bold.
The reason it's March 20th this year, btw, instead of March 21 is because it's a Leap Year, and February stole one day off the start of March.
Bruce, you say "northern hemisphere seasons", but you seem to be being North-American-Centric, because many countries don't consider the seasons to be defined by the equinoxes/solstices. (I don't know about Canada.) Great Britain for example just says "Summer is June-July-August".
@BrianH - Apparently you missed David's (official-forums-version-of) edit: "Just saw the typo. 20 days should read 40 days."
yep, missed his update. My bad!
